Good.

There is an elderly man at my church who always asks, "Have you been good?"

But what does he mean by good?

Being good is more than just obeying your parents, your teachers, your elders, authorities, the law etc..

Merely complying with their requirements does not make you good.

Being good must be an intrinsic part of your being.
It is an orientation to benevolence in all your transactions.
And a kind-hearted way of life.

Jesus said, "'Why do you call me good?  No one is good but God alone.'" Mark 10:18 (NRSV)

God is good.

But we can aspire to the perfect goodness of God.
